Dream For Me, Dream For You, Dream For Others®. And now your host, award-winning life and business coach, Naomi Arnold…
First of all, belated Happy New Calendar Year!
It probably feels like such a long time ago already, but I hope you had a wonderful time over the holiday season.
You might not know this, but I was thinking of you – especially those of you who find that time of the year particularly challenging.
I personally took a few days off work completely over the holidays and I also took a week off coaching clients. I did spend most days working though, but on business planning and creating new resources for you.
I also decided to bring back this podcast, with a pivot in focus, so I wanted to spend this first new episode updating you on some of the changes I’m making and what these will mean for you.
Firstly though, I wanted to begin by thanking those of you who completed my survey last year. I learned so much from your responses about what you wanted to focus on moving forward and how I can best support you with this.
In fact, most of the changes I’m about to tell you about were initiated from responses to that survey.
I thought I would begin by briefly summarising what I learned from the survey results – and then I’ll tell you what you can expect from me in the months ahead.
So what did the survey reveal?
As you might know I am a life and business coach.
Some of my clients come to me for life coaching, often with goals around getting clear on their purpose or figuring out what it is they want to do to feel more fulfilled in their life.
Whereas other clients come to me for business coaching and mentorship, really wanting support and assistance in building a successful business in a gentle, sustainable and socially conscious way.
I also train business coaches as part of the Conquer Coach Certification Program which I co-created with Emmy-award winning entrepreneur Natalie MacNeil and I’m one of the co-founders of the Gentle Business Mastermind with Amanda Rootsey and Nicola Newman.
So I naturally find myself with two primary streams of work – one being life coaching and one being business coaching – with these streams sometimes of course intersecting.
Plus because I previously for many years worked in government and corporate settings – and have a research and professional background in psychology, health and human rights – I find that I have been increasingly getting more enquiries from government, corporate and university sectors too.
When I released the survey to those who receive my weekly emails, I was therefore interested in how many people were coming from each of these streams and what they were interested in learning more about from me.
How many of them were entrepreneurs or had businesses or were coaches like me? How many of them worked in corporate or government or university settings? How many of them were trying to figure out their purpose? How many of them wanted to learn more about psychology or self-coaching or personal development? How many of them were interested in human rights and social justice? So this was one of the first questions I asked.
Interestingly, I learned that:
+ almost 70% of you were interested in hearing more about life passion and purpose;
+ over 65% of you had businesses or were entrepreneurs;
+ approximately 60% of you wanted to learn more about issues related to psychology, personality and self growth;
+ almost 50% of you were interested in learning more about health, wellness and self-care;
+ about 35% of you were following my work to learn more about leadership;
+ almost 30% of you wanted to hear more about social change and human rights; and
+ just 10% of you wanted me to focus on topics related to work and corporate life.
Luckily for me, these are all topics that I’m passionate about and would love to support you in learning more about too.
I also asked about what specific topics you’d like to learn more about within each of these categories.
You were so generous in sharing what your struggles have been, the areas you would like some support with, and topics of interest. I now have a list of over 100 topics that you have suggested – so it’s safe to say, you have already well and truly drafted my titles for future podcasts this year.
You also told me that you wanted more workbooks, worksheets, workshops, short courses, planners and other resources to help with the topics you shared. Plus you wouldn’t mind occasionally having an opportunity to connect with me ‘live’ on group calls too. You even told me exactly what you’d like these resources and chats to focus on. And you mentioned that you’d love to hear more stories from my life and business and experience too – things I personally struggle with and how I attempt to wade through them.
So I’ve taken all of this on board and am blocking out time regularly in my calendar this year to deliver these to you in the different formats that you asked for.
Now what can you expect?
Over the holidays, I did get started on a few of the resources you asked for – some will be free and others you will need to pay for. I’ll tell you about some of these now.
I will be regularly publishing free content this year on this podcast and I will be providing full transcripts with the show notes for those who prefer to read than to listen. I’m hoping to cover as many of the topics you brought up in your survey responses as possible. Think: life coaching, psychology, business and entrepreneurship, personal and professional development, health and wellbeing, social change, leadership, life skills, people skills and more.
I have also created a couple of new free resources for you. The first is a Communications Styles quiz and the second is a Becoming Framework infographic. The Communication Styles quiz will help you identify your dominant communication style and will then outline some tips for how you can practice improving your communication based on this. The Becoming Framework infographic takes you through an 8-step process for imagining, planning and creating change and success in a way that works for you. I will be basing an entire episode around each of these, but if you don’t want to wait and want to access these free resources now, you can find them at naomiarnold.com/free-resources. On this page, you’ll find some other resources too, including the Making A Difference, Your Way workshop, a business planning tool, a self-care audit checklist, and some of the other fave resources from the now retired Freebies Library. I hope there will be something of use to you on that page.
I also have a number of new products on my website, with more to come soon. I might focus an entire episode on some of these in the future, but for now, feel free to poke around my site. You’ll see there is a whole new section for corporate and government folk, as well new comprehensive planning workbooks for individuals, for business owners, and for teams.
As always, my one-on-one life or business coaching will continue too, with a new package this year to work with me for twelve months with monthly sessions, email support and accountability, and some bonus resources. My standard 12-Week Intensive Packages with coaching sessions every second week will continue also.
We’ll also be launching the next round of the Gentle Business Mastermind in the coming weeks. And the next round of the business coach training with Natalie MacNeil will likely open for enrolments in the second half of 2019.
Plus there are a whole heap of other resources and programs coming out over the year, including one that is specifically for coaches who want support in building momentum in their business, getting clients, and becoming the absolute best coaches they can be. But you’ll hear more about these as the year progresses and they begin to take shape – touch wood.
Thank you so much for listening to this initial episode which is basically a summary of what you can expect over the months ahead. Now that we’re on the same page, I can’t wait to start diving into some of the topics you mentioned you are interested in, starting from next week. So please stay tuned.
In the meantime, as always, please feel free to reach out to me and let me know how I can best support you. One of the things I honestly find most challenging about hosting a podcast is that I don’t get to directly talk and dialogue with you. So please don’t be shy, feel free to comment on the show notes or connect with me on social media to let me know you’ve listened to this episode and to share what’s been happening in your world. Because I genuinely want to know. I want to be in community with you and support you over the months ahead.
So if you don’t already, you can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest – under the handle @NaomiLArnold and I will be frequently checking the #DreamForOthers hashtag too. If there is ever a topic you would love for me to tackle on the podcast, please feel free to tag me and let me know.
Alternatively, you can also become email buddies with me by subscribing to my newsletter via to my website – I often have back and forth conversations with subscribers there and it truly is one of the highlights of my week when I get to hear from you.
Okay I think that’s enough for this week! I absolutely cannot wait to connect with you, get to know you better, and dream together each week.
But until next time, I wish you a wonderful week wherever you are in the world.
